A NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Friends,

Having recently celebrated my 6-month anniversary here at the Catholic Foundation, I cannot tell you how many people have asked me some version of the question, “What does the foundation actually do?” Good question. My most concise answer is that we serve donors and facilitate generosity to our Catholic ministries. And, often times, a follow-up question is then posed: “Why wouldn’t I just give directly to (favorite ministry)?” Another good question.

I reply with gratitude that giving directly to the causes one cares about is wonderful and important. We never want to dissuade anyone from being generous and sharing their blessings. Yet, for many people, partnering with the Catholic Foundation offers benefits that are not available when giving to specific charities.

Primarily, the Catholic Foundation acts as your advisors and advocates to ensure your giving intentions will be structured, honored, and stewarded the way you desire, in keeping with the values of our Church.  Additionally, the Catholic Foundation’s value-add to fundholders is the ability to see your charitable fund grow over time, both from new contributions as well as investment returns from socially-responsible sources that align with our Catholic faith. This growth provides even more grants to give to your favorite Catholic organizations!  The convenience of using a single source to give to numerous charities, expert assistance and advice tailored to donor needs and interests, and tax advantages are all additional benefits of partnering with the Catholic Foundation.

As you can see, we strive to facilitate charitable giving for our donors that is not only efficient and heartfelt, but also growth-oriented and strategic. Said another way, your giving legacy to your parish, school, or ministry may be better served by going through the Catholic Foundation. Doing so may very well amplify the impact on the ministries closest to your heart.

Please contact me if you would like to join us or start a conversation.

Sincerely,

Greg Deja
